FAQ: Booking a Disney Cruise!

Booking & Reservations – Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a Disney cruise?

To get the best prices and greater choice of stateroom, it’s recommend you book your cruise a year in advance if possible. In particular, special itineraries such as holiday cruises sell out quickly.

What information is required to book a Disney cruise?

You’ll need to have the following information available:

  • The itinerary you want to reserve
  • The number of adults and children (under 18)
  • Birthdates, addresses and phone numbers for each Guest in your travel party
  • Your payment information.
  • If you are a returning Guest your Castaway Club membership ID.

Do I need to buy travel insurance?

While it’s not required, we highly recommend purchasing travel protection.

As part of the booking procedure, you’ll have the option to buy the Disney Cruise Line Vacation Protection Plan, this will provide travel assistance and reimbursement for expenses such as trip cancellation, medical emergencies and more.

What documents will be required when I check in for my cruise?

  • At check-in, all Guests must present valid passports or other acceptable proof of citizenship.
  • All travelers are required to have a valid passport to enter or re-enter the United States by air.
  • The Guest who booked the cruise must present a copy of the Online Check-In Port Arrival Form at check-in. You can save time during the boarding process by completing this document ahead of time through My Online Check-in.

Dinner seating info?

Main Seating begins between 5:45 PM and 6:15 PM and the Second Seating begins between 8:00 PM and 8:30 PM. (though these times may vary based on itinerary.)

If your seating preference is not available, an alternate seating will be assigned.

What is the best time of year to sail?

This a personal choice that depends on your preferences and when you and your family are free to travel.

Itineraries during summer and winter holidays, including spring break, tend to be the most popular. It’s recommended that you book peak season itineraries at least one year in advance for the best price and stateroom availability.

If your schedule is flexible, off-peak times―such as during the fall months―offer greater options and best-value pricing. No matter when you sail, making your reservation further in advance will give you the best rates.

How many Guests can occupy one stateroom?

The largest Concierge-level suites can sleep 7 Guests, while all other stateroom types accommodate at least 3 people.

What are the stateroom categories on the 4 different ships and how do they differ?

Concierge: Concierge Suites provide the most opulent and spacious onboard accommodations for parties of 5 to 7 Guests. Choose from a number of Suite options—all with verandahs. In addition to Suites, you may choose a Concierge Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah. All Concierge-level staterooms offer the convenience and personal attention of dedicated Concierge Services.

Oceanview with Verandah: These spacious staterooms for 3 to 5 Guests offer private verandahs for enjoying scenic vistas and refreshing ocean breezes. Note that there a number of different Verandah styles available.

Oceanview: Beautifully styled, these rooms for 3 to 4 Guests provide a stunning ocean view through the in-room porthole.

Inside: These spacious staterooms are perfect for 3 to 4 Guests and are outfitted with stylish nautical fittings, natural woods and imported tiles.

 Can I reserve connecting staterooms?

Yes. There are a limited number of connecting staterooms available on the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder. Because connecting rooms are a popular request, we recommend booking your staterooms as early as possible.

The Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy are specially designed to accommodate families and groups. Each ship has over 500 connecting doors that allow for ample connecting staterooms.

Connecting staterooms with verandahs feature a partition that may be opened to create a larger shared balcony.

Life online

I know that blogging is going to help me boost my business and maybe even inspire someone, maybe ;), but why is it so stinking hard to get going?!

My mission is to schedule at least one post a week. Mostly Disney/Pinterest related like the title of the blog states! But probably some random things as well. Keep it interesting for me and others who may be interested.

I’ll stop boring you and get onto planning.

Thanks to those who take time out of their days/nights to check my blog out. I’m sorry it’s been so lame so far. 😦 I promise to try and do better.

TTFN!! 🙂

My Top Ten Tips for a Magical Disney World Vacation

Walt Disney World – The Happiest Place on Earth….. Isn’t it?

It can be! It can also be overwhelming with 4 parks, 2 water parks, 22 resorts, 4 golf courses, 2 miniature golf courses, sports complexes, shopping areas, over 100restaurants, and endless activities. Here are some of my top tips from of experience that will help you plan a magical vacation!

1. Use a FREE Authorized Disney Travel Planner – All Authorized Disney Travels agents have completed the College of Disney Knowledge. Working with an agent you will have an expert at helping you customize a vacation to meet your families needs and budget. The agent can suggest itineraries, make meal reservations, and keep up with special promotions that can save you money.

2. Know When to Go – Choosing when to visit can have the biggest impact on your trip. Walt Disney World can be a crowded place, and the time of year you visit can have a dramatic impact on crowds.  Typically September to mid-November and January to mid-February are the least crowded months. Early December is another great time to visit. The weather is great and the holiday festivities are magical! When schools are on breaks WDW is more crowded and expensive! And of your course, your agent can assist you in choosing the best time to visit, too!

3. Stay at a Disney World Resort – Immerse yourself in the magic. WDW has a resort for every budget and the accommodations are part of the experience. Guests enjoy complimentary transportation from the airport, free parking at all resorts and parks, free transportation to all resorts and parks, use of extra magic hours, and the option of using the Disney Dining Plan.

4. Include the Disney Dining Plan- Use of the dining plan essentially turns your trip into an all inclusive vacation. The dining plan is a convenient way to eat around the World. Ask your agent about the different options and all of the benefits of adding the Disney Dining Plan on to your package.

5. Make Dining Reservations in Advance- Reservations can be made 180 days in advance and many locations book up fast! You don’t want to be wandering around looking for a place to eat. Not sure where to eat? Ask your agent for their recommendations.

6. Plan a Day to Relax – Disney World can be exhausting. Plan an off day in the middle of your vacation, your family will have a chance to relax and recharge. Sleep in and spend the day at your resort pool or explore Downtown Disney.

7. Be Realistic – You cannot see it all, don’t be miserable trying! Remember you are on vacation.  Be flexible and take it all in stride! If you miss something, use it as an excuse to plan another magical trip!

8. Don’t Break the Bank Purchasing Souvenirs – Set a limit for the kids before you go. Purchase a gift card for each child and encourage them to choose what they spend their money on wisely!

9. Arrive Early – The best way to experience the parks without waiting in lines and maneuvering through crowds is to arrive early.  The lines will grow long a couple of hours later and you will have already hit all of your “must dos”.

10. Don’t Spend your Vacation Waiting in Line – Arrive at the parks early and utilize the fast pass system to eliminate waits. Decide before you arrive which attractions are “must dos” and hit those first.  If you have small children use parent swap.  The first riders must wait in line.  When they are finished, the parent who had to wait with the child goes through the fast pass line. Take advantage of the new FastPass+ system so that you can use it to add magic to your vacation.
